Hybrid / Electric Pre-Purchase Inspection

Price

$199

Duration

Booking

Live-data inspection of the hybrid battery, high-voltage insulation, electric drive and ADAS safety systems before you buy a used hybrid or EV — branded PDF report of everything the machine says. Hybrid and electric vehicles only: the pack, the insulation and the safety systems that protect you get read live, not assumed. Electronic inspection only — it is not a mechanical inspection and never guarantees a vehicle is problem-free.

This is a pre-purchase car inspection for a hybrid or an electric vehicle — the part a normal scan can't do: reading the high-voltage system before you sign.

I read live data from the hybrid battery — block voltages, internal resistances, state of charge and temperatures — measure insulation resistance on the high-voltage system, pull engine and electric motor data, check the ADAS safety systems, and report I/M readiness plus pending and permanent codes. You get a branded PDF report: evidence from the machine, in writing.

Hybrid battery health is the single most expensive unknown on a used hybrid or EV, and no test drive or walkaround can tell you about it. This is electronic inspection only — it pairs with, but does not replace, a mechanical inspection, and it never guarantees the vehicle is problem-free.

What this addresses

Compatibility

Hybrid and electric vehicles only — Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Ford, Hyundai, Kia and others, on supported years and models. What can be read live varies by year, make and model, so I verify your vehicle before booking and tell you plainly what the machine can and can't report. This is an electronic inspection: it does not check mechanical condition, bodywork or crash history, and it never guarantees the vehicle is problem-free.

How mobile service works

  1. 1Tell me your year, make, model, engine — and what your car is doing (or what feature you want changed).
  2. 2I verify your vehicle and confirm the service is supported before you spend anything — compatibility varies by year, make and model.
  3. 3I confirm the price with you before I head out. Prices are starting prices; a travel fee applies beyond 10 miles.
  4. 4I come to you — your home, your office, your driveway. No waiting room, no dealership lane.
  5. 5I work with professional equipment, explain what I find in plain English, and deliver — a diagnostic report, a reset, a feature unlocked.

Common questions

How is this different from the $99 Pre-Purchase Electronic Inspection?

The $99 inspection is the standard one for a gas vehicle — every module that talks to a scan tool, codes and live data, no high-voltage work. This one is for hybrids and electrics and adds the high-voltage side: live hybrid battery data, insulation resistance on the high-voltage system, electric drive data and the ADAS safety systems. If you have a gas vehicle, the $99 inspection is the right service.

Can you tell me how much life is left in the battery?

I report what the machine measures — block voltages, internal resistances, state of charge, temperatures, and how the data behaves. That is evidence you can act on. I won't sell you a remaining-lifespan number the vehicle can't actually provide.

What if something is wrong?

Then you know before you sign — and you can walk, or negotiate with the report in your hand. If it's clean, you sign with certainty. Either way the document is yours.

How long does it take?

Usually 90–150 minutes, depending on the vehicle and how many of its systems can be read.

Prices are starting prices, not guarantees. Final pricing can depend on vehicle, location, diagnostic complexity and requested procedure. This is an electronic diagnostics, coding and reset service — not mechanical repair. Diagnostics identify electronic faults but do not guarantee that a specific mechanical repair will resolve a problem. No dealership or manufacturer affiliation.
