A free code pull at an auto parts store reads one module, gives you a number, and sends you home.
A full-system scan reads every computer in your vehicle: engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, body control, instrument cluster, HVAC, TPMS. Every module your car's network contains — and the scanner writes all of it into a PDF report that's yours.
What I do
I come to you. I plug a professional bidirectional scanner into your OBD port — the XTOOL D7BT, full-system, manufacturer-level access.
It reads every module and pulls every code — active, pending, stored, permanent. Then the scanner generates its report and I email it to you.
What the $59 buys
Exactly this, and the scope is confirmed by text before I book:
- On-site connection with the professional XTOOL D7BT scanner.
- A full-system scan of all available modules in your vehicle.
- The emailed PDF report, generated by the scanner as-is.
Free if nothing found means exactly that: if the scan turns up no fault codes at all, you don't pay. That's the one guarantee I publish, and I keep it.
What it does not buy
I'd rather say this up front than have you find out afterwards. The report is the scanner's own output, sent to you the way the machine wrote it. What it doesn't include:
- No pinpoint diagnosis, no wiring tests, no component testing — that's separate work, quoted separately.
- No interpretation and no repair recommendations — the report lists the codes the way the machine wrote them.
- No mechanical repair, no parts replacement, and no clearing your check-engine light.

When the code isn't the whole story
A scan tells you a module reported a fault. It doesn't always tell you why. If you're chasing a module communication fault, a wiring problem, a parasitic drain or an intermittent electrical gremlin, that's Pinpoint / Electrical Diagnosis — quoted from $75/hr after the scan, once I know what the fault looks like. You hear the number before the work continues.
Compatibility is verified first
How many modules a vehicle exposes varies by year, make and model — some older or basic vehicles have fewer than a current one. A full-system scan reads every module your vehicle's network contains and reports what those modules say; it does not guarantee that a specific mechanical repair will resolve a problem.

The price is flat — one price, confirmed with you before I come out. No travel fee within 10 miles of Chattanooga. Beyond 10 miles, a travel fee applies at $2 per round-trip mile, quoted up front before booking. Anything over 30 miles is outside our service area. Compatibility varies by year, make and model and is verified before any appointment. This is an electronic diagnostics, coding and reset service — not mechanical repair. No dealership or manufacturer affiliation.
