From $75/hr: the time depends on the fault, so the price is quoted after the scan — and I confirm it with you before the work continues.
When a scan shows a code but not the cause: module communication faults, wiring and component testing, parasitic drains, intermittent electrical gremlins. Price quoted after the scan — from $75/hr.
When a scan shows a code but not the cause, this is the next step: chasing the fault through the electrical system — module communication faults, wiring and component testing, parasitic drains that flatten the battery overnight, and intermittent gremlins that never show up when there's time to look.
It's time-based rather than a flat price: from $75/hr, quoted after the scan when I know what the fault looks like. I tell you what I found and what I'd test next before more hours go on the clock.
What this addresses
- Battery drains overnight with no obvious cause
- Modules that don't answer the scan tool
- Intermittent electrical faults that come and go
- A code was stored but nobody can tell you why
- A no-start or crank-no-start with no clear cause
Compatibility
What can be tested depends on the vehicle — module access and available data vary by year, make and model. Electronic diagnosis only: I test and report, I don't replace parts, and if the cause turns out to be mechanical I tell you that instead of billing more hours.
How mobile service works
- 1Tell me your year, make, model, engine — and what your car is doing (or what feature you want changed).
- 2I verify your vehicle and confirm the service is supported before you spend anything — compatibility varies by year, make and model.
- 3I confirm the price with you before I head out. Prices are starting prices. No travel fee within 10 miles of Chattanooga. Beyond 10 miles, a travel fee applies at $2 per round-trip mile, quoted up front before booking. Areas over 30 miles away are outside our coverage.
- 4I come to you — your home, your office, your driveway. No waiting room, no dealership lane.
- 5I work with professional equipment, report what I find, and deliver — a diagnostic report, a reset, a feature unlocked.
Common questions
Why isn't this a flat price?
Because the time it takes depends on the fault. It's from $75/hr, quoted after the scan once I know what I'm chasing — and I confirm it with you before the work continues.
Do I need a scan first?
Yes, this follows a scan. If you haven't had one, start with the Basic OBD-II Scan or the Full-System Scan + Digital Report.
Can you guarantee you'll find it?
No, and I won't pretend otherwise. Intermittent faults can be evasive — if I can't pin it down I tell you rather than keep billing.
Do you fix the wiring?
I test and report on the electronic side. Physical wiring and mechanical repairs are handled by a shop — I'll tell you what needs doing so you're not paying twice.

Crank, no start
The starter turns it over and nothing fires — or the battery is flat every morning. I test module communication, immobilizer and current draw on-site, from $75/hr, quoted after the scan.

Prices are starting prices, not guarantees. Final pricing can depend on vehicle, location, diagnostic complexity and requested procedure. This is an electronic diagnostics, coding and reset service — not mechanical repair. Diagnostics identify electronic faults but do not guarantee that a specific mechanical repair will resolve a problem. No dealership or manufacturer affiliation.
