Booking

Bookable at the price shown; I verify your truck before confirming.

A forced regeneration of the diesel particulate filter, run with a capable tool on a supported diesel truck when the filter is loaded but not damaged. It is not a substitute for a physical repair: if the filter is cracked, melted or loaded with ash, or if a fault that caused the loading is still present, a forced regen will not fix it and I tell you that instead of running one.

A diesel particulate filter collects soot and burns it off in a regeneration, normally while the truck is being driven. Short trips, a lot of idling and stop and go work stop that happening, so the filter loads up and the vehicle restricts power to protect it.

A forced regeneration is that burn run on purpose, with a capable tool, on a supported diesel truck. The vehicle is held at the conditions the regeneration needs until the filter is burned clean. I come to you, run it, and tell you what the vehicle reported afterwards.

Straight about the limit: a forced regeneration is not a repair. If the filter is cracked or melted, if it is loaded with ash rather than soot, or if the fault that caused the loading is still there, a forced regeneration will not fix it. In that case I tell you what the readings show instead of running one and taking your money.

What this addresses

Compatibility

Forced regeneration is offered on supported diesel trucks only, and it needs the filter to be loaded but not damaged. What the vehicle allows, and what the tool can command, varies by year, make and model. I verify yours first, and if the truck needs a physical repair I tell you before anything is run.

How mobile service works

  1. 1Tell me your year, make, model, engine — and what your car is doing (or what feature you want changed).
  2. 2I verify your vehicle and confirm the service is supported before you spend anything — compatibility varies by year, make and model.
  3. 3I confirm the price with you before I head out. Prices are starting prices. No travel fee within 10 miles of Chattanooga. Beyond 10 miles, a travel fee applies at $2 per round-trip mile, quoted up front before booking. Anything over 30 miles is outside our service area.
  4. 4I come to you — your home, your office, your driveway. No waiting room, no dealership lane.
  5. 5I work with professional equipment, report what I find, and deliver — a diagnostic report, a reset, a feature unlocked.

Common questions

Will this get my truck out of limp mode?

Not always, and I will not promise it. If the filter is loaded with soot and the regeneration completes, the restriction usually clears. If the filter is damaged, loaded with ash, or a fault is still present, the truck will restrict power again and the honest answer is a repair.

How long does it take?

Usually 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the truck and how loaded the filter is. It is not something to rush, so I stay with it until the vehicle reports that the regeneration has finished or has failed.

Do you remove or clean the filter?

No. That is a physical job for a shop. I run the electronic regeneration the vehicle supports and report what it did.

Can it be done anywhere?

It runs while the truck is parked and stationary, and it gets hot. It needs to be parked somewhere safe and clear of anything heat can damage. Tell me where the truck is when you get in touch.

Prices are starting prices, not guarantees. Final pricing can depend on vehicle, location, diagnostic complexity and requested procedure. This is an electronic diagnostics, coding and reset service — not mechanical repair. Diagnostics identify electronic faults but do not guarantee that a specific mechanical repair will resolve a problem. No dealership or manufacturer affiliation.
