A new battery has to be registered with the vehicle's battery management system on supported European cars, so charging is controlled for the battery that is actually fitted rather than the one that came out. Done through the OBD port, at your location. Year, make and model are verified first, and I tell you if your vehicle does not need it or does not support it.
On a lot of European cars the battery is not just a battery. The vehicle keeps a record of the battery fitted to it and controls charging to suit that record. Fit a new one without registering it and the car can keep charging the profile of the battery that came out, which is how a healthy new battery ends up treated like a tired one.
On supported vehicles I register the battery you have fitted, through the OBD port, at your home or wherever the car is parked. Your year, make, model and battery type are checked first, and I tell you plainly if your vehicle does not need a registration or does not support one.
This is the electronic side of a battery change only. I do not supply or fit batteries, and I do not do mechanical repair.

Compatibility
Battery registration is offered on supported vehicles only. Whether it is needed, and whether it can be done through the OBD port, varies by year, make and model, and on some vehicles it also depends on the battery type fitted. I verify yours before you spend anything, and if it cannot be done I say so.

Common questions
Do I need this if I fitted the battery myself?
On supported vehicles, yes. The vehicle keeps the old battery's profile until a new battery is registered, so charging is controlled for a battery that is no longer there. I register the battery you have fitted; I do not supply or fit it.
How do I know if my car needs it?
Send your year, make, model and what battery is in it. Some vehicles need a registration, some only need the battery type set, and some need nothing at all. I verify yours and tell you before you spend anything.
Is this the same as a battery test?
No. A test measures the battery. Registration writes the new battery's details into the vehicle so charging is controlled for it. If you want the battery measured as well, that is the Battery Deep Dive.
Will registering it fix stop-start?
Sometimes a missing registration is why stop-start stopped after a battery change, and sometimes it is not. I will not promise it. I register the battery, then tell you what the vehicle reports afterwards.
