Battery Deep Dive

Price

Duration

Booking

Load test, CCA vs rated, alternator ripple, and starter draw, with the numbers explained. It upgrades the basic test that comes with a jump start. Standalone or added to any visit.

A real battery and charging assessment with the numbers: a load test, measured cold cranking amps against the battery's rated CCA, alternator ripple, and starter draw while the engine cranks.

That's more than the quick pass that comes with a jump start — it's the difference between 'it started today' and knowing how much life is actually in the battery and whether the charging system is doing its job. Standalone, or added to any visit.

What this addresses

Compatibility

Readings are taken at the battery and through the vehicle's own modules — what's available varies by year, make and model. Electronic testing only: no parts are replaced, and this does not include a parasitic-drain test (that's Pinpoint / Electrical Diagnosis, quoted from $75/hr).

How mobile service works

  1. 1Tell me your year, make, model, engine — and what your car is doing (or what feature you want changed).
  2. 2I verify your vehicle and confirm the service is supported before you spend anything — compatibility varies by year, make and model.
  3. 3I confirm the price with you before I head out. Prices are starting prices. No travel fee within 10 miles of Chattanooga. Beyond 10 miles, a travel fee applies at $2 per round-trip mile, quoted up front before booking. Areas over 30 miles away are outside our coverage.
  4. 4I come to you — your home, your office, your driveway. No waiting room, no dealership lane.
  5. 5I work with professional equipment, report what I find, and deliver — a diagnostic report, a reset, a feature unlocked.

Common questions

Is this the same as the free test at a parts store?

A parts-store test is usually a voltage and load snapshot. This is a load test, measured CCA against rated CCA, alternator ripple and starter draw — with the numbers explained to you.

Will you replace my battery?

No — I test and explain, I don't replace parts. You'll know what to buy, and whether the alternator is the real problem.

Do you test for a parasitic drain?

Not as part of this. A battery that flattens overnight is a drain, which is Pinpoint / Electrical Diagnosis work — quoted from $75/hr after the scan.

Prices are starting prices, not guarantees. Final pricing can depend on vehicle, location, diagnostic complexity and requested procedure. This is an electronic diagnostics, coding and reset service — not mechanical repair. Diagnostics identify electronic faults but do not guarantee that a specific mechanical repair will resolve a problem. No dealership or manufacturer affiliation.
